Abstract
Computer-based systems sometimes store a large amount of data in various storage systems such as relational databases or files in a file system.
Data has to be migrated to new data storage devices at more or less regular intervals, be it as part of a software update and the associated move to new servers or simply the replacement of old data carriers with new ones.
In addition to the usual challenges of ensuring data integrity and data security, the completeness and correctness of the transmitted data must be ensured and verifiably logged in the regulated pharmaceutical environment.
